Please join me in prayer for this family

My heart is heavy with sadness and concern for a dear family..Hope and Billy Atchinson have been a part of my daughters and their husbands lives for about ten years..They all met in college and Billy was on staff with Campus Outreach..

They attended church with Lauren and Lucy at Eastern Shore Presbyterian before moving to Chicago about three years ago. They have all kept in touch and we saw Billy and his son at the Troy bowl game last year in New Orleans. Hope and her four children have visited many times since moving North.

Billy recently has taken a new job and they were relocating to Cullman, Al. Hope has spent some time with her mom and family in Butler, Ms. and has visited friends and just three weeks ago they came to Bible School at their old church in Fairhope.

Hope and Billy are great parents. God loving, good Christian people..A few nights ago, their four year old daughter had a virus and Hope finally got her down about three early Friday morning. When Hope got up to check on Alanna, she found that she had passed away in her sleep.A parents nightmare had begun..Our hearts hurt to think of all they are going through.

Please join us in prayer for this precious family. The funeral is going to be on Monday around 1:oo in Butler, Al. Pray that God can give them peace and comfort during this time of sadness.Pray that their freinds and family will be there to hold them when they can't stand..Pray that God's loving arms will be around them as they face the days ahead.

Lauren, Lucy and their husbands are going tonight to a worship service where the men will pray with Billy. Hope and the women will gather and pray at her moms..Join us in lifting this family up to God who knows the plan for each of us.

I just have to tell you that Billy has stated to many that he will not question God. He knows his sovereignty and says he understands his purpose. What a man..who knows God has a plan for his and his families life, no matter how it hurts..My Laruen said something that really impacted me after being with her friends..She said..Mother, our children aren't really ours..They are Gods and we are just blessed to have them the number of days God lets us be their parents.

Thank you for your prayers..

Loving you all ...Robin

Thanks for commenting today on my blog... Your blog is cute too, and I like the verse you have on your header. I like the picture of you and your daughters :) You are the other side of the coin (I have the 3 sons)

My, what a loss... As I remember I will lift up this family in prayer.

Please stop by often and comment... I love comments :)

I have a daughter named Hope so when I read your request for prayer, it especially hit home.

I am praying they can rest in the truth of Psalm 139:16... all of Alanna's days were ordained by God. He assigned her a certain number of days and took her at the exact appointed time.

Nothing that we do or don't do can add to or take from God's assigned days for each of us.

May this sweet truth comfort them. I will keep them in my prayers throughout today.

Robin,
I am so sorry to hear this sad story. I know they are shocked as well as grief stricken. It sounds as if their faith is strong. They will be fine as long as they continue to stay close to Him. Oh, this is a parent's nightnare, isn't it? I will surely pray fot them.

I am impressed with your new committment to health. Good for you! I so need to follow you and do the same!

I will pray for this family right now. What a terrible, terrible, scary loss. I have nothing more to say. I'll just pray.

My heart breaks to read of this.....I hope her parents (and all who love her) can take comfort in knowing that little girl is in the arms of Jesus. I will pray for her family.
