Amelia Island Madness

personal trimmer..corner rounder....How many pages have you done?...colors.. Where are my scissors?..Do you have any black classic letters I can borrow? I can't find my pictures..Make me a circle...Oil can..moth balls....

These are a few of the things you would have overheard if you had been "a fly on the wall" at our cropping trip to Amelia Island. Our group was serious about getting stuff done so there were not many outings .We were getting our memories down on paper for our future ancestors to look at and wonder if we were crazy as it appears in the pictures?

We (Pat, Paula ,Janet, and I )have been cropping together for years. Paula invited us to a four day crop at her sister, Denise's house . It was beautiful, roomy, and quiet. Paula knew every nook and cranny of the island, and all the good eating places. She and her family have been going there for over 20 something years. It was a great time and we all loved being together and catching up on one anther's lives.

We are all very different, but each one of us brings something different to the circle. Paula, is the master of design, sticker magic lady, and knows all about Creative Memories.

Janet is the holder of the most books done because she creates many memories during all her trips..Grandmother of five..and I do mean a good grandmother! She is the best...

Pat is the glue that keeps us together..Always organized, always willing to help on a project, thinks of her own designs and is just a joy to be around.

Me..I am the laughter, the pants wetter, the tooter, the disorganized one who is always needing some help.

I do want to tell you about our dining out experience..This was a first for all of us and I hope it will be the last...Here is how it unfolds.

We all dressed up,had a reservation at the wonderful restaurant and got there on time..We were seated, ordered our meal and were eating our salads..just enjoying everything about the dining experience..Our meal came and it was DIVINE..Everything about it was perfect...We all loved what we ordered..Then. a party of four were brought to be seated at the table next to us and as they passed , we all smelled this horrible smell of MOTH BALLS! I of course was the first to say something and we all just laughed a little and continued to finish our dinner..As time went by the odor was stronger and stronger and it almost took your breath away. We kept turning to one another and saying we could not enjoy our dessert with this smell going on. We got the attention of our watress and explained that we needed to be moved to another table to finish our meal..She was as stunned as we were , she was trying to hold her breath and take their order without dying right there in front of them..To make a long story short, we went to the other side of the dining room where the staff came by and said .. This is a first for us? They smelled the odor when they passed the bar..They were all trying to be professional but were just taken back also..

So, don't put your cashmere in moth balls when the winter season is over..It was a funny experience and one we hope never happens again.

Loving you all .Hope your 2008 is all you want it to be, Try walking in the light of hope with his promise and joy to be the focus of your every day. Robin
