Friday was so great and we did survive our 2007 Christmas Card taking!
We got up early and celebrated Christmas!The smell of spiced tea and the girls sitting around waiting to open their gifts. Jeff cooked up a big breakfast of his famous pancakes and the smell of bacon filled the room . We all ate and it was so good. Everyone was relaxed as we celebrated Christmas morning.
I know you are thinking we are weird but , I like to be with my immediate family and this is the only way we can do it,now that there are so many demands on their time during the holiday.
I am determined to make Christmas not a stressed time for my daughters. I hauled mine across the universe to be with family their whole lives and I can't say that I really had a Christmas that I truly enjoyed because of all that is involved hauling Santa across State lines and rushing around Christmas morning trying to get to Meridian for Christmas lunch ,looking good and acting as if it has all been such a breeze.
I must say it is one of my biggest dreams to have Christmas in Dothan surrounded by my children and husband on the real day . I would love to attend my church on Christmas Eve with all them with me to celebrate Christs birth . It is something that is never going to happen and , I know..I need therapy to get over it . I have threatened to call Dr. Phil. But, I try and recreate the day when and where we can to get the effect. I wish I had the guts to do what my girls are doing and that is to make the decision to be at home and that is the story!
Anyho, back to Christmas..The guys opened their gifts. Jeff got a battery charger for his boat and a gift certificate to Bass Pro Shop..Jason got a Tom Tom and a gift certificate to Best Buy. The girls already had their gifts ,but Jeane Carroll purchased her sisters some really cute pj's and a purse that is to die for. Jeane Carroll got the pj's and purse also for herself..What fun it is to be the youngest and still on Daddy's payroll.
Mary Fuller and Brooks got to open their Christmas. Mary Fuller got a Madeline Doll and book and some monagramed sheets for her big girl bed while Brooks got some toys and clothes.
Dee and I got great gifts from the girls and guys. Mine was a spa package and some monagramed towels while Dee got some great gift certificates to eating places in Daphne. Jeane Carroll got gift cards from her sisters to shop at the Brown Eyed Girl.
Christmas was over and we all relaxed and watched the great football game between Ole Miss anad STATE..GO DOGS!!It was a victory and at the end of the game Coach Crooms was so humble and all he could say was..They have such character. What a way to talk of your team. It was fab!
Next, was the card talking..Now, I will say the men endured all the posing they could and we did get a good shot.(I Think!)My friend Janet came and took our photo on the beach and endured lots of maoning and Dee was getting real ill and well, lets just say she got to see the family in our true colors. Christmas cards bring out the worst in us..The final product is all that matters! We did it! You will get yours soon.It's a good thing they can't talk! You might hear some bad words from some of us.
The final part of the day was eating out a resturant called Fire in Grayton Beach. It was really good and we ran into Dee's Aunt Mary and some of her family . That was really special as we love getting to see them. That was our Friday..More to come..Loving you always and Merry Christmas Everyone!
