Last night the topic of television came up . I wanted to share some of my favorite shows with you. Won't this be fun to look back on in 15 years? It a funny thing about TV. I never watched it until I had a hysterectomy. My mom came and stayed with me for two weeks to help me recover and she watched a lot of TV because she lived alone and it was a lot of company to her. Dee and I always limited the girls as to what they watched(except for Jeane Carroll) She always got to do whatever she wanted because she is the youngest. So its just been a few years that I have been an avid watcher. This is in no order, just shows I like to watch.
1. Big World,Little People- Reality TV about a family of little people(midgets)Their names are The Roloff's.. The dad and mom are little people, they have a set of twins and one is little and one is normal along with two other normal children. Sadly Mr. Roloff got a DUI not to long ago. They live on a farm. Very entertaining.
2.Dr. 90210- This show is reality also. It is about a group of doctors in Beverly Hills that preform plastic surgery. What an eye opener. The cute Brazilian doctor (his wardrobe is wild) is my favorite. He and his wife have two children and live in this huge house. She is a tat skinny and I do wish she could hang with me for about two weeks. I could get her up to at least 100 ponds soaking wet with the stops I make.
3. Greys Anatomy- I have to say this is my favorite show. It is about doctor's and interns and lots of soap opera stuff that goes on along with the incredible medical stuff that happens. It is a cliff hanger type and you never know what is going to happen next.
4.Today Show- I love to listen to the Today show while I am getting ready for my day. It has changed over the years but is consistent with news and lots of other fun stuff. Matt and Meredith are great news people along with Al and Ann . I think I like it because I have seen them all in person in New York . You get it, they are like my friends..
5.Who's wedding is it anyway? This is absolutly halarious with crazy brides, mothers, grooms, families , and wedding planners. I can't beleive how much money people can spend on a wedding. Most of them are living together. Not that I am making judgments..They get a free nights stay at some luxury hotel for letting them film the drama of the wedding.
6.Etertainment Tonight- I catch this usually on the nights I am up in the middle of the night which is frequent. It is about the stars and the sick happenings of the rich and famous. They say things like ,"Is Marie Osmond pregnant or is it the smog that made her pass out while on Dancing With The Stars? I would pass out too if I got swung around that hard by some has- been actor.
7. Raymond- It is a legend. The hilarity of his life and marriage is so real. Now, don't act like some of the stuff that has happened to him has not happened at your house. It is so real. The mother and father in law along with the younger brother are great. To think they lived next door to each other! What a woman Debra was.
8.Food Channel- I watch them all.. My favorites are The Barefoot Contessa, that cute little Italian girl, and the girl that has the kitchen to match her outfits..she is a scream with her theme based meals and kitchen to match.
9. Martha Stewart- I love her show, I go online and learn to do the many things her staff thinks of to make her look good.
10. Oprah- She is a Mississippi girl and I just feel like she is one of my girlfriends. I turn it off when she goes new age on me and gets real crazy but most of the time I like what is happening. She is very informative and knows how to generate some cash. I am smart enough to discern when she is going overboard . And now, who doesn't love a fat girl on TV? They aren't very many of us and she is so real when she eats potato chips on the show. She LOVES them!!!
Shows I try to Avoid:
1. Law and Order- This is Dee's favorite.
2. Any soap opera- I don't need to get hooked.
3.Ellen - obvious reasons,I have been know to watch a few of her guests while flipping channels.
4. The View- It used to be one of my favorites but Rosie ruined it for me.
5. HGTV- I used to be an avid fan but have lost interest.I do like the fliping houses thing.
6.Movies on Lifetime- I would cry the whole day long if I let myself get into these tragic stories of all the lost women of the world.
Hope you enjoy my views and opinions. That is all they are...MINE!
