Dear Friends..
I had the fun of being on the inside of a beautiful wedding this weekend.
The bride used to spend the night at my house when she was five and giggle and laugh way into the night.
You see, she fit right in my household cause she has red hair..
She and my Lucy were the best of friends while Sherry and I did our best to raise em up to be self productive citizens..
They grew up on us and they are better than we ever thought..
Lindsey was a beautiful bride..
Even the tropical storm FAY could not keep her from walking down the aisle to meet her man, Brent..They met doing a play together...
She stood there in front of countless friends and family who drove in a storm to watch her commit her love to her man...
It was sweet and Terry Johnson, who was a big part of her life, back when..pronounced them husband and wife..
I was there but I looked a lot like a drowned rat cause I was back on the scene with some more friends helping make things look all perfect..
Did you know that The Winfrey can set up a reception in a matter of one and one half hours ?..It was like something off tv, folks..I was skeptical but , let me tell you, they had that place looking good , time the bride and groom got there..
The wedding was at The American Village near Birmingham.. It looked like Mt. Vernon and the church was gorgeous..I had a run in with President Washington ,but we were friends in the end when I moved my car from behind the barn. You see, I was carrying important stuff, like vases and a feather pen,the brides guest book, some baskets with bows tied on them, a tray of mints and folks, we had bubbles for the exit to get there and they were in tiny vile's and you should have seen all the festiveness that was going on when we passed out those bubbles...
Other than when the bride sang Me and Bobby Magee, my favorite part of the reception was when the bride and her dad danced. Now, knowing them like I do, I should have expected this but..Instead of the sad traditional slow dance, they got to dancing all around and let me say, there was some boogie going down..It was precious and just like the two of them..just full of love and life..
I can't finish without telling you about how I got to be on the inside, you see, Sherry has been my friend for a long time and she let me be a part of helping her cause I love being in the "inside of everything that is fun" . I got to be with some more really talented friends of the MOB and let me tell you..when this bunch gets going, you have Rock the Reception without the tv crew !
We rocked all right..right into the arms of Tropical Storm Fay who did not get in our way one bit..
Thanks, Sherry for sharing your little girl with me, from the nights she was five until the day she became a bride..I loved every second of it..
Loving you from the "Inside of a Special Wedding"..
Robin
I can't sign off without giving a big hats off to Emily who was the hair designer to the bride and her bridesmaids ..Stunning hair, dear friends, just stunning ! You got to have talent when you are fixing hair for hurricane force winds of the tropical storm..FAYE..

Loving that shout out!!!
You did not look like a drowned rat, and I have the pics to prove it. :)
I am in awe of you, Queen of Matrimony. I know you had a blast. Enjoyed talking with you today. Mallory is safe.
much love
Love it!!!!! Nothing like a storm to get things exciting for a wedding! I am directing a wedding in Sept.!? What in the world!?! That's another post.

You blogged the wedding so perfect. Gary & I got to enjoy all your pre wedding day work. It was worth driving in the storm to see this happy family celebrate. DOB can " cut a rug"
Oh, that sounds like so much fun! It takes more than 'hurricane force winds' to stop a Southern wedding! It just makes the stories of the day a little better!
Glad all turned out well!
I'm about ready for Fay to get outta town, aren't you?
Oh Mrs. Robin, I LOVE IT! I can't tell you how greatful I am for all you did for the wedding. We seriously could not have done it without you! I teared up during this whole blog. You painted the picture perfect though. It was most defina\itely the best day of my life and you had a HUGE hand in making it that way!! I LOVE YOU!!!
