Mothers Day Guilt

What exactly is Mother's day and who the heck invented it ?

It is a day of guilt ( isn't that the nickname for a mother?)

If you have a mother,you feel bad if you celebrate because YOU are a mother. Even if you stay home and your children wait on you hand and foot, you still feel guilty because you should be with your own mother.

If your mother is dead, you feel totally horrible, wishing you had her here and that you had more times to celebrate with her.

Then , if your husband says, let's go to my mothers for mothers day, you are still feeling guilty, because..a. you need to be with your mother
b. you want to be with your children, but they are moms now and they are celebrating
being with their children ,but feeling guilty because they are not with you.
c. you don't want to travel and wish the GUILT would stop.....
d. you wish you could be at a spa alone somewhere ,not thinking about being a mother.

Let's face it..It is a hard day, no matter what your choice is.

Being a mom is a lot MORE fun than Mother's day..Things such as.....

The smile that goes between mothers and daughters when they know just what you are thinking.

That first time ,you get to hold your grandchild.

The church program where your child is singing off key but , she is so cute, you don't care.

The feeling and tears that come to your eyes when your daughter walks down the aisle to become a bride.

Watching your daughter talk to her dad in a serious conversation and seeing the love that is between the two of them.

People, this is what Mothers Day is to me..Not a day when we need to feel guilt...Let's celebrate every day.

Birthday, so why make a big deal and of it ? You guessed it, I am
going to my mother-in-laws.
