Ok, here I am at my favorite shopping place. IT is HUDSON"S . The one we went to in the picture is in Mobile.I grew up going to Hudson's in my hometown of Hattiesburg, Ms. It is a salvage store stocked full of whatever disaster has just happened. It might be wet polo shirts from a hurricane or fire damage from who knows where. It is always an adventure and you never know what great sale you might run up on.
It was what we did when family came to town, We piled up in our station wagon and went shopping . We hunted through piles and piles of stuff till we found the perfect item. We had to run home and bathe real quick because we might smell of smoke or salt water. It was great. My mama was the QUEEN of Hudson's. She shopped there till her dying day. We found stuff she had not even had out of the bag at her house. She said shopping at Hudson's was cheaper than a psychiatrist, so off she would go. I never remember going home without a trip to Hudsons.
I was in withdrawal when there was not one near Dothan when I moved. I even wrote them and begged them to build one and I would help them find a location. I never heard from them, SO, I would just get in my car and drive all over till I found one. Funny, we never counted all the gas we used to get a bargain.
My favorite Hudson's story goes like this..Back in the day, POLO oxfords were all the rage. They were real expensive and mama and Aunt Evelyn found them, smoke damaged at Hudson's for a dollar a shirt. I came home from college and there in every bath tub in our house mama had filled up each tub with hundreds of smoked damaged polo shirts. I am not lying...They bought all they had and my, were we all the rage with every polo shirt under the rainbow. WE were looking all stylish in our shirts. The smell came out of almost all of them.
What a memory. We have bought tables, bedspreads, food, lamps, towels, you name it, we got it and it was a real deal.
I miss Hudson's ,but had a big time telling the grandchildren about it.I 'll keep looking and find me something real good one day. A real deal....
Loving you all..
Robin

Hi Robin
I have never heard of Hudson's, but I LOVE a good bargin. I enjoy going to Tuesday Morning and can always manage to fill up my buggy with things I didn't even know I needed. I also love to shop at Homegoods. The one I go to is in Birmingham, but I have been to the one in Atlanta, too. That is another place where they put stuff out just for me. I never figured out how they know when I am coming!:)
Am just catching up on my blog reading from last week. Looks like you had a blessed Easter. The children all look so cute! I enjoy seeing their pictures.
Can you believe all the pollen? We're drowning in it!
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Is it like a glorified Big Lots!? I'm all about those kinda places! Sounds like so much fun! Glad you're home safe and that you enjoyed some precious time with all your babies! Even the 30 year old ones! :)
