We got up after an exhausting day on Saturday and and headed to Hattiesburg early Sunday morning. We arrived at 11:30 and the fun began. My brothers house looked fabulous. It was clean, decorated , and every room was neat and fixed to a T. He had a fire pit out back, drinks
for every one to enjoy before he started his late lunch. Robert is a bachelor and to my knowledge had little cooking skills but wow, he surprised us all. My sister and her daughter Caroline were there to greet us. Caroline was perched in a wheelchair that is "in the family". It turned out to be quiet a fun piece of equipment as the day wore on.My girls and husbands came in next with Mary Fuller and Brooks who were dressed in their Christmas outfits.Mary Fuller is in the full know of Christmas and was so excited because she knew we were all going to exchange gifts. We all caught up and Robert took us on a tour of his home and told us about all that he had done .
He started cooking lunch and we had wild rice, and salad . The dressing was an old Hburg favorite we have had for years. The dessert and coffee was so FINE! Hburg has a new french bakery and he had a chocolate cake and yule log that was to die for..We
alsovisited with a family friend that dropped by to see us .
We then opened gifts. My brother had been to Ireland this summer to a wedding and bought his Christmas gifts.Mary Fuller got this beautiful linen dress with a purse to match and Brooks got this beautiful handmade sweater. All the girls got wool scarves and the guys got handmade sweaters. They were very special and you could tell he spent a lot of time and money picking them out. This is just my kind of gift.
It was a great day. It was too short but we headed back to Dothan that same night .
Merry Christmas..Robin
