The Milk Man

How many people do you know who can say they married the Milk Man? I did just that and what a life we have shared. We have been married for 20 something years and life just keeps on getting better. When we became engaged Dee shared with me how much he loved his job. I was so blind struck back then that it did not register with me that he was trying to tell me something. It took me about seven months to realize that he was not kidding. He Loves his job. He has lived and breathed the Dairy Industry since he was a child. His father and grandmother had Brookshire's Ice Cream in Meridian , MS. which years later sold to Dairy Fresh which years later sold to National Dairy Holdings. This bring us to present date here in October of 2007! My man just loves his work and I am appreciative of the fact that he loves it so, but oh the times he stays for days on end stick in my mind. He has worked his way up the ladder and is now at the top. It is hard but he still loves it. He is dedicated to his employees and doing the best job at all times.He has always worked on Saturday as long as I can remember. His rest day is Sunday and a few times he has gone in after church, Not many but there have been a few. I am proud of him and most of the time I am understanding about his love for the business but after twenty years ,you get used to it. It is not worth the fuss because I know my husband loves his job!!!We have traveled many places through Dairy Fresh, visited many grocery stores across the country to look at milk, and the best of all have met some wonderful friends and have made lasting friendships with people across the United States. We are blessed to part a part of an exciting and changing industry. We also get to fill our fridge full of yummy treats and share with our friends the gift of ice cream on occasion.Dairy is in his blood!Ice cream runs through his veins! He Loves it ! He was a Dairy Science major in College and went on to get a masters in business. I am proud of his achievements in his industry.
