Have you ever just lavished in a load of warm towels ?
Have you taken the time to smell them fresh out of the dryer ?
Felt the warmth of them on your skin ?
I did just that this afternoon with my four year old granddaughter..
We just wallowed in a whole load..Just felt the heat of them..All soft and clean..fresh and new....
She was loving it..She said..Dee Dee, they are so cozy and warm..
It made me think of God's love for us...It's like a basket of warm towels..He lavishes and loves for us to come to him..He is the load of warm towels..Just waiting for us to take the time to stop visit with him...
We usualy just toss the load on the bed and hurry to fold them up and put them away and get it done..
We do him the same way..hurry through our devotion or prayer time half thinking of something else..
Peeps..He is longing for us to lavish in him..Smell the freshness and newness and warmth he has to offer us...
Take time tomorrow and when you wash and dry tomorow....Thank God for the warm towels and what it means..

What a beautiful analogy! Now I don't dread the 3 loads waiting for me. I will definately take the time to languish in them!
Love the analogy! And for the record - my kitten Sidda loves loves loves to waller in towels right out of the dryer. I of course don't like that she does this, but maybe she understands the analogy better than me!

Thank you for making me think of our Lord in that way. You are so right he cleans us right up then puts his loving warms arms around us.
I am thankful that, with the mounds of laundry I do each week (hello? four boys!), the Lord can use even the seemingly mundane to point me to Himself...
I do this with my daughters all the time. They LOVE it. I remember sitting on the couch as a kid and my mom dumping a load of warm laundry on me, too. Wonderful, snuggly time! Makes me want to take a nap now just thinking about it!!!
