I Can't Make Myself Go Home

I am at Location number two and I can't make myself go home. I am having such a great time being with two of my girls and grandchildren. I am at Lucy's drinking coffee and helping her in her house. We are going to the post office in a bit and then we get to pick MARY FULLER up from school. That will be a first for me and I am so excited.

Speaking of Mary Fuller, I have to share with you what she said to Jeff and I on Friday night. We were in the den visiting and Mary Fuller jumped up on the hearth of the fireplace and said, Ladies and Gentleman , Can I have your attention please ? I was expecting a circus act to follow ,but this is what she begins to say..It is a very bad ,sad day and is holding her head down low, Her dad says, well why is it a bad ,sad day? She looks up with these beautiful eyes and says, Today is the day Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Yes, I mean , how can a four year old comprehend this? I was so struck that she was feeling such grief about our Lord. We quickly jumped in and said, but the good news is that he rose again and is here with us if we ask him to be a part of our lives. What a teaching moment..Such precious times with a four year old..I wanted to weep with happiness that she somewhat understands that he died for us so that we may live.I will cherish this moment for years to come.

Did any of you see the picture of my mama's potato salad? She was famous(in her family) for this dish. We all watched her make it for years and thank goodness we knew just what to put into it to recreate this memory. There are no definite measurements, but some very specific ways to do it. The potatoes have to be boiled and put in the fridge at least one night before, this is so they will cut in perfect cubes. You have to use dill pickles and real sweet onion. The secret ingredient is celery salt. Lucy reminded me that she never used this sparingly. She always had the perfect amount and we all loved it. I so wish I knew where she got this dish. Did she make it up? Why on earth did I not ask her where it came from? My brother was here for lunch and he said, as he tasted it that she was making him some the night before she died. She was planning a fourth of July barbeque .We all decided it was my best batch and the most near to her taste that I have done. What a compliment..We will always love Bo's potato salad.

Ok, I am real sad and depressed now, talking about her . I miss her so..

Loving you all...Be good to your mother, you will miss her one day, and ask all the questions that you need to now, because the answers are real important down the road

Robin! Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Cherish the moments! It's so nice that you have precious memories of your mom. That is a sweet tribute to her legacy. I want me some of that 'tater salad. Can you guesstimate a recipe? You could name it after your mama and add it to the our church cookbook. By the way - awesome awesome needlework girl~
Come home when you get tired.
luv, Lori
