Happy Birthday !

I went to a friends 70th birthday party last night . It was so much fun. She was a senior in high school in the 50's and it was decorated to the max fifties style.My good friend S who held the event did the decorating, and that girl can do a party. It was so fab. 45 Records , poodle skirts, , coke in a bottles, popcorn in cups, and saddle oxfords were just a few of the things on the tables.

S had pictures of the birthday girl from all her honors in high school around for everyone to view. Her two daughters were there with two of her granddaughters. What a fun time we had.It was a potluck supper and boy ,were we in luck. We had cornbread, salad,brownies, cake,chicken fingers,casseroles of all kinds. It was just good ole cooking and we ladies ate it all up.

Have you ever just listened to women? There is a code we talk in. You have to be woman to understand it. It goes something like this.".Who made this dish? In the background ,you can hear laughing and more talking, I said, Who made this salad? What salad? You know, the one that is second to the back on the last table in the kitchen..It has chicken and green onions and olives in it..Oh yea, I liked that, more laughing in the background..I think the girl over there in the pink shirt with the cute hair might have made it, but I saw Sally bring it in after she fell down in the back yard because it was so dark out there. Her purse fell open and my did she have some crazy stuff in there.Back to the salad..The girl in the pink, you know her name.her mama was a Walton, who married a Smith and they had that daughter who had the beautiful wedding in the garden at their home, oh yes..I remember her, she had twins, didn't she? She did, I wonder if she ever got my wedding gift? I never did get a thank you note..Which reminds me, Did you see that movie on tv last night on the Hallmark channel about the woman who got lost in a blizzard ?A blizzard, oh I had one of those at the Sonic the other day and it was fine. Peppermint chill was the name..Chill? Sue has been so sick the last week? No, you don't think she has the virus , do you? Oh no, she looks way to good to have a virus. Her skin is flawless, I bet she goes to that skin girl that everybody is going to? Her eyes look good also, you don't think she has had her eyes done? No, she just has good genes..And on and on and on it goes ..About that salad?
