Girl Time in Lake City, Colorado

My adventure started at my first stop to my friend Anne Coker"s mountain home . It is so nice..Not just any mountain home though..Cow hide chairs, leather sofa's,other animal skins all over the place..Just believe me..it is first class , all the way. She was so kind to have a bunch of old friends in for a lot of laughing and fun..

I got there two days before the others came , so I had time to adjust to the altitude. An adjustment it was. I was breathless for the first few days. We stayed in our pj's one full day catching up. Ka R. and I came in on the same plane.

The others arrived a few days later and the fun really began. These girls are so precious.
I had not seen some of them in 15 years or so . We took up right where we left off, after a high school Reunion. Let's just say it was one for the record books..

Short summary of my old friends..
Ka- head of surgery in big hospital. So in charge and so sweet. We have stayed in touch and I love being with her. She did lots of the cooking and cleaning and taking care of us. Ka's just that kind of friend.

Anne- hostess of first class mountain home. So sweet to let us descend. Homemaker to four adult children..Decorator, talented cook, psychiatrist to many , and just down right fun to be with. Keeps us all connected.

Susie- never married, but does not have a chip on her shoulder about it. Lawyer, Southern accent that makes mine seem from the North, sweet friend to many, great aunt, just precious to be with . Made me feel like we never drifted apart.Cute mountain attire also. Loves to needlepoint!

Eve- Oh so cute..figure unharmed by childbirth, steady boyfriend for 20 years..Lawyer, so poised and so pretty with her beautiful grey hair that she pulls back in a ponytail. Has not changed a bit. Devoted to her family(mom and brother)and I think she might have been QUEEN of ZEUS !Loved rehashing old times with her.

Betty- Homemaker...story teller extraordinaire..Had us laughing so hard at her stories, health conscious, mother of boys..We worked together at Citizens bank one year in between college.This girl is a hoot..Loves Jackson and hubs also..

We came to the conclusion that we all had a charmed childhood.
We all had lots of boyfriends, pledged ICH, did not pledge a high school sorority, all went to college in Mississippi, All love the three C's..Cosmos, Coors, and Chardonnay..All love our families..four of us have lost both parents to death..Love to cook and shop,love to sit in pj's and do nothing for a day, took us 8 hours to watch a movie--we got sidetracked, and last but not least..the tie that bonds us together is we all love the Lord..What a blessing to have friends that have this in common.

We had 4 husbands at home, 1 boyfriend, 11 children, 1 divorce( i always did things first!),and many stories to tell. One grandmother and two grandmothers to be. 2 needlepointers, 2 smockers..I could go on and on..

All in all , I fell in love with them all over again ,after 40 years of history together.We are already planning another get together. It's a good thing Anne has a beach house and a river house also..
