A True Martha Stewart Wedding

My niece Elizabeth had the most amazing wedding I have ever attended. It was in Meridian, Mississippi and MARTHA could not have held a candle to all the Elizabeth and her mom planned.

Elizabeth is thirty years old and works for Coastal Living Magazine. She has great taste and knew exactly what she wanted. The details were so articulate and she designed the entire process from start to finish. She is an artist, the family mover and shaker, and just about the sweetest niece any aunt could have. We all had the best time and I must say she was the HAPPIEST bride I have ever seen.

She had friends from all over the United States in attendance. Rod(the groom) had friends from all over the US also. It was so much fun to meet the interesting people and family from both sides of the wedding party.I can't say enough about the kind things people had to say about them. God brought together two people who will be a blessing to all they meet. Their walk with the Lord has ALL to do with the way they were so radiant and and how they made the vows about how God will be the major part in their lives. It was also touching that Liz's brother Richard did the ceromony and pronounced them man and wife.Rachel, her sister was maid of honor and Duncan her brother was a groomsman.

The flowers were peonies in pinks and Burgundies and the bridesmaids dresses were silver and tiered. A friend of Liz's did the flowers and they were over the top. The reception was held at the Riley Center and the food was up there with Martha also. Some items were shrimp and grits, sweet potatoes and sugar cookies, marinated vegetables, that were so fabulous. And, my Lucy did the grooms and brides cake. You need to go to her blog to see the details of the cakes. They were delicious and I was so proud of her.

Mrs. Brookshire(grandmother of the bride) wore a beautiful pale pink suit that matched the flowers and it fit her to a T. I have never seen an 87 year old woman with his kind of figure. She looks great. Betty(MOB) wore a beautiful pink gown that she also wore to Duncan's wedding two years ago. The entire family, all 34 of us or more were there to help celebrate the marriage. Richard(FOB) has an usually close relationship with his daughters and it was very special to watch him give his last daughter and child away to be married.

We all laugh and say Jeane Carroll's wedding will be over the top, but this one was the BEST! The good thing about it is, Liz and Rod were not only about the wedding but about the marriage. I am sure they have been well counseled and ready to take on marriage as the top priority it should be.

So to Betty and Richard..You DID it..You have successfully married off number four. Your future holds lots of happy moments to come, many grandchildren, and many family times at your lovely home at Lake Mailande. We all pray for Gods blessing on you all in the days and years to come. Loving all of you...Robin
